After years of neglect, an army band inspector (Prof. Grawert) stumbled upon the manuscript in 1909 and quickly produced his own edition. Both military and civilian Austro-German bands have played it ever since. Besides transposing this to easier keys (C and F concert vs. D-flat/G-flat), I added bugle-like trumpet parts in the trio, using the open tones in F.
