This piece was originally for 7 trumpets and timpani called Concerto for Clarini and Timpani, from "Versuch einer Anleitung zur Trompeterund Pauker-Kunst (Halle, 1795)." For Seven-Part Brass Choir (7 cornets), with Timpani, Baritone, or Trombone by Johann Ernst Altenburg. I arranged the first movement at the request of my friend and mentor Stewart Schuele for the occasion of his wedding a number of years ago. Played at stately pace it makes for a marvelous processional. Perhaps a good concert piece. It is scored for 2 trumpets, 2 horns, trombone, tuba, timpani and organ. If you need alternate parts for any of the instruments please don't hesitate to contact me.
