A colourful but gentle treatment of the Huron carol, this makes a valuable addition to the repertoire for the weeks after Christmas Day when one seeks some calmness. Making use of canon and Erickson's characteristic rich harmonies it is evocative of deep stillness and stark Northern wintertime landscapes blanketed in snow, grey under leaden skies.
