This instrumental piece for Advent was inspired by J.S. Bach’s ’Wachet Auf’. The flute obligato, which is derived from the old hymn tune ’Bristol’ from the Ravenscroft Psalter,is interrupted by strings playing phrases of this same hymn tune.Although the default setting is for strings (Grade 2)and flute (Grade 3-4) , please feel free to use any instruments you have available. Any profits from sale of this piece will go to much needed building work at Blackfriars Priory in Oxford. Thank you.
