Originally in E Major. At one time Bach used the Prelude as a first movement to his sixth French Suite, also in E major. In the keyboard original, the middle voice of the fugue moves freely between right and left hands, even within statements of the subject. I've tried to maintain this (and even outdo Bach!) in this arrangement for guitar duet.
