You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices."The first part of the "Prelude" is one of the latest examples of the metrically-free French harpsichord piece (pr?lude non mesur?s), develped during the 17th centurey in the lute music of Denis Gaultier ("La Rh?torique des Dieux…") and others. Whereas each actual tone is explicity designated (in contradistintion to thorough bass)…. the rhythm is left to the player discretion and sense of style" I couldn't find a way to write the actual score of this prelude to indicate its freedom in rhythm( in its first part), so if anyone knows it, please let me know.
