The Preces were written when I was an undergraduate. Bill (Grayston) Ives asked Academical Clerks at Magdalen to compose settings of these texts which he would consider for performance. I never had the nerve to submit mine which were for AATB. Some years later, in 2006, I decided to rearrange them for SATB and added the Responses. The Preces and Responses were performed liturgically in March 2007.
In 2012 I added a setting of the Lord’s Prayer that I had composed as an undergraduate but never committed to electronic formatting. I also added three Amen settings for after the Collects.
The accompanying recording is of the Preces and Responses only.
