I believe that "prayer" can expand our "vision". I have reflected this feeling in the piece.

The core of this work is the two themes played by the Tuba and the Flugelhorn at the beginning (the Tuba theme is ① and the Flugelhorn theme is ②). In the first section "Adagio", ① is repeated (the theme consists of 12 different notes, but the whole piece is not dodecaphonic), and ② is fragmentarily intertwined with it. The structure is like a chaconne. In the next section, “Allegro”, two themes appear alternately, changing their forms (① may be a little dominant). In the third section (agitato-misterioso-agitato-flebile), the two themes change their appearance so much that they seem to disappear. “Allegro”(followed by energico-spiritoso) again, and the climax is reached. This is a kind of recapitulation section, but here there is a new perspective. Even though we return to the “Adagio”, the music itself is not looking backward. It does not end here, but continues to look forward.

This piece is a transcribe for British-style Brass Band of “Adagio and Allegro” for Saxophone ensemble (or orchestra) composed in 2010 and retitled.
