No ’duck-call’ sound on the computer so just a whistle! In the last bars, the ’duck’ has a cadenza and can go on quacking until the conductor has had enough. With a little bit of practise quite a performance can be put on! The conductor then signals a rim-shot and the duck is despatched! If there is a fear that the audience would not go for the poor creature being shot, then omit the cadenza and finish with the orchestra’s unison note.
