This short piece is a cue I was asked to write by college to a scene from the film Point Blank. It is supposed to be rather brutal and aggressive but with a strong sense of rhythmic drive, hence depicting the incensed state of mind of the main character, Lee Marvin. It is scored – generally quite thickly – for percussion octet containing timpanis, orchestral bass drum, triangle, six toms, two tenor drums, an assortment of cymbals, egg-shaker, 5 octave marimba and vibraphone.
