Transcription for brass band. The slow (2nd) movement of Saint-Saens' great Symphony No. 3, originally written for orchestra and pipe organ. A very Romantic melody, with capital "R." Duration: Just shy of eight minutes.
I've added an optional "organ pedal line" which doubles the lower tuba part, just in case it is desirable to shake the room further; a 32' sub-bass is indicated by Saint-Saens at the big moments. (An electronic keyboard might do here.)
Just E-mail me about the parts for performance (free, for now), which still need to be extracted and uploaded.
A good exercise in breath and tone control. Watch that the tempo doesn't drag too much. However, Saint-Saens' is even slower than this!
