The "song" in Philippians 2:5-11 is a unique section of the New Testament. It is probably a creedal statement that the early Chrsitians sang to remind themselves of the basis of their faith. I like to think Paul and Silas sang this in the prison in Philippi and that Paul refers to it in this letter to that church with fond memories. Whether or not that is the case, it stands as one of the great statements of Christian belief and I can only trust that a good choir can take the music and lift the words to the heights they deserve. I would love to hear it being sung somewhere.
