Persian Tunes for Piano is a collection of unforgettable Persian songs arranged for piano by established composer and pianist, Hamzeh Yeganeh.
This is the first book in a series designed to teach piano students a style of playing that has yet to find a settled pedagogical approach, neither from the academic nor the traditional standpoint. The book begins with early beginner pieces, including the traditional simple tune known as 'Majnoon Naboodom' and the famous 'Elahe-ye Naaz', laying the groundwork for introducing basic left-hand rhythmic patterns that will be developed further throughout the rest of the book. As each new concept is regularly repeated in subsequent pieces, students can incorporate learned techniques, aided by chord symbols, into the rest of the book, leading to a more sophisticated improvisational approach.
