Robert Schumann's orchestral work is often criticised for its orchestration, so it is somewhat surprising that this overture condenses to a Septet surprisingly well. The originality and drama of the harmonies carry remarkably well to the reduced forces and make this a fine work to perform in a chamber setting.
As usual with my arrangements, print double-sided as presented and (most of) the page turns will work.
