Marschner is probably best known for his opera "Der Vampyr", but deserves to be played more as his music is powerful and dramatic - in the best Romantic tradition and very similar to Weber's.
This overture is no exception - full of energy, drama and reflection too!
I believe this to be the only modern score and set of parts to be published - but stand to be corrected!
