Sullivan is so often overlooked as a composer of "pretty tunes", whereas his skill was in producing music that fitted perfectly with the libretto of (mainly) W.S. Gilbert. When taken on its own, his music shows much of the artistry of Guiseppi Verdi; whose scores he edited, but with his own personal style!
This overture is rarely played, but has a fabulous selection of themes and orchestral colour so typical of Sullivan - it deserves to be performed more often. The score has been edited to co-ordinate articulations and dynamics which have been missed in the hand-written parts.
Print the parts double-sided, including title pages where present, and the page turns will work.
