Composer's Note: The story of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin was told in my trilogy of original stage plays, "Pioneers at the Falls," "Progress at the Falls" and "Pride at the Falls." We staged the three plays with community actors at the Heyde Center for the Arts 2002-2006. Each individual scene was followed by projected historical photographs and original songs performed by the musical lumberjack aggregation known as the Swampers. Our community acting troupe has continued to stage original musical plays at the Heyde Center for the Arts as the Wayward Players. The Swampers have continued to present original songs and stories with projected photographs celebrating the Chippewa Valley. The song "Our Town" is from "Progress at the Falls." This arrangement was created for the Chippewa Valley Community Chorus to evoke feelings of home: "in your heart, your soul, and in your mind."
