My opera "KET" is about integration in a big city with the same name. The original libretto is from the old political Belgian TV journalist Geert Van Istendael who wrote nice poetry and books about Brussels. It's about the rich and the poor, black and white and the unpossible love between an immigrant Ali and a well educated lady secretary Muri?l.

In this fourth scene there is the fight between the two guys of the gang, Johnny and Ali. They are rapping in Dutch!During this fight Bitchy tries to console Ali with her song together with the accordion, the bass and the clarinet. After this quiet moment they restart to discuss and fight about the words that Ali had heard from Gloriol during his interview on the street(look at sc?ne 3). It ends when Ali says that he will find out the truth about all the corruption from Gloriol. This fourth sc?ne ends with a long lovesong from Muri?l. The Double basses and cello's play during this song a repeated chromatic motive.

The score is for big orchestra and rock-band. The MP3 recording is from the live performance in the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels. The conductor is Tom Deneckere. The lovesong is performed by the soprano Isabelle Guillaume.
