This song is one of four that were written about 1958, but have been revised since. The other three also appear on SibeliusMusic.com. I have recently received permission from the Arthur Waley Estate to publish all four of them on this website. Arthur Waley was born in 1889. He was one of the leading sinologists of the twentieth century, and did much to popularize Chinese literature and cullture. He was a poet in his own right as well as the author of numerous translations and other works. He died on 28th June 1966.
