Add a dash of the mysterious East to your clarinet trio repertoire. Tchaikovsky’s Arabian Dance is a beautiful piece with a truly haunting quality. The key to a great performance here is to play the piece expressively with close attention to dynamics. Sure, the ostinato passages in the bass clarinet part are repetitive but vital to the piece. If played sympathetically as an accompaniment to the Bb clarinets, it can be a very rewarding experience. Breath marks have been left to the player’s discretion. This arrangement is suitable for both teacher and student workouts and short concert performances. Enjoy!
