The "Nassauer Marsch" was composed by the k.k. Kapellmeister Franz Scheibelreiter (1826-1907) in 1873 and dedicated to the Duke Adolphe of Nassau. The original score was for piano, I arranged it for orchestra. The first performance have taken place by the Chamber Orchestra of Luxembourg "Les musiciens", cond. Nicholas Brochot, in the "Schlosskirche" of Weilburg/Lahn (Germany) on 19 November 2005.
The "Weilburger Tageblatt" wrote: "Mit einer teilweise fast ueberschaeumenden Spielfreude in den schnellen Saetzen … begeisterte das Luxemburger Kammerorchester ’Les musiciens’. Von zarten Toenen im Pianissimo bis hin zu harten, fast schon boesen Klaengen im Fortissimo beinhaltete der Vortrag des Orchesters alle Nuancen der musikalischen Ausdrucksweise. Den Anfang bildete die schwungvolle Urauffuehrung der Orchesterfassung des 1873 Herzog Adolph gewidmeten ’Nassauer Marsches’ von Franz Scheibelreiter/Pierre Even."
