The French composer Georges Bizet (1838 - 1875) composed incidental music to Alphonse Daudet’s play L’Arlésienne in 1872. The music is not performed very much in its original form, but the two orchestral suites are still very popular. In these recorder orchestra arrangements of the Minuetto, Adagietto and Carillon from the first orchestral suite the original keys have been transposed. First played at the Northern Recorder Course on 17 April 2011, at Bawtry Hall, Bawtry, UK. Soprano 1 doubles Sopranino in the Adagietto.
