"Manhattan Beach" is an American march by John Philip Sousa (1854–1932). It was written in 1893 to commemorate the Manhattan Beach Park resort. This is the only Sousa March I ever "arranged". Most of my other attempts at a Sousa Marches have been more transcription where I tried to remain as faithful to the original score as possible. Thing is, back then, I only had a book that had a piano transcription. I had no idea what the original parts or score looked like, nor did I have access to them, so I just sort of transcribed the piano version for brass quintet. Therefore, with a little poetic license, It features a neat little tuba solo and is, all around, fun for the whole band to play. Good for street gigs!
INCLUDES PERCUSSION AND GLOCKENSPIEL PARTS FOR EXTRA FLAVOR!
