OK, after over 400 viewings, it's time to "free" up this piece like my other sacred music pieces, for awhile at least. It may be inappropriate for church services (except maybe the Salvation Army church), but it's my favorite hymntune. The professional military band that I play in has pleased audiences many times with this concert march. Based on the hymn commonly known as "Praise my soul, the King of heaven," the most challenging part is a flourishing melismatic clarinet soli section. A strong high school or college concert band instrumentation will fill it out nicely, and double reeds can easily double the 2nd flute or trombone parts.
