Lass of Richmond Hill for (advanced) flute and guitar
Advanced arrangement, with variations, of the old English folk song The Lass of Richmond Hill, original melody by James Hook.
The fact that each verse (except the 2nd) modulates to a different key gives rise to a couple of episodes where the last two bars of the tune are
repeated in different keys for humorous effect. The players may wish to exchange curious glances at the pauses on each 7th chord
before the following modulation.
Simpler arrangements for various instruments with guitar are also available.
The sound sample is an electronic preview.
