The word “lalela” is Zulu for “listen.” And although “Do Your Ears Hang Low?” is a silly children’s song, keeping your ear to the ground, or listening for clues as to what is about to happen, can be very important, and in some situations can save your life. In some African tribes, stretched ears are symbolic of wisdom. The bass line in this piano solo arrangement simulates a djembe – a versatile African drum that is played with the bare hand and can be very loud. 3 pages. Performance time: approximately 2:30.

Included in the "Piano Remixes: Kid Songs" Vol. 1 early intermediate songbook.
