This one looks back to the renaissance and is very firmly based on La Battaglia, (more Susato than Jannequin). It occurs more or less in full 3 times but differently each time. I had decided not to take the tunes of LB apart into counterpoint and new harmonies as this piece is suited to a retaining of the relentless two time pulse with continual references to the many original representations of La Battaglia.
