Virtually every band composition based on Korean source material ever written has used the same song, Arirang, which is by far the best-known Korean folk song around the world. Because this haunting melody has been beautifully set for band before, it seems time to make use of some fresh Korean folk songs, of which many equally fine examples can be found. This suite consists of settings for band of three of these lesser-known (to the outside world at least) Korean folk songs.
