Skladbu „Juliana“ jsem věnoval slavnému českému skladateli Juliu Fučíkovi ke stému výročí jeho úmrtí. Když jsem se v mysli přenášel do atmosféry Fučíkovy doby a pohrával si s citacemi z jeho slavných děl, zažíval jsem jedinečnou vnitřní radost a spontánní veselí. V současnosti je tento hudební svět bohužel pozapomenutý. A tak mladší posluchači asi sotva rozpoznají v mé „Julianě“ motivy z Vjezdu gladiátorů, Florentinského pochodu, Marinarelly, či z úsměvného fagotového Starého bručouna.

I dedicated the piece „Juliana“ to famous Czech composer Julius Fučík on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his death. When I moved in my thoughts to the atmosphere of that old time, I felt unique internal joy and spontaneous gaiety. Unfortunately, that music world is nowadays somewhat forgotten. Younger listeners thus hardly recognize in my „Juliana“ the motives from “Entrance of the Gladiators”, “Florentiner March”, “Marinarella” or good-humoured virtuoso polka for fagot “Old Mutter”.
