Sir Julius Benedict, also known as Jules Benedict, was a German-born composer and conductor who spent most of his career in England. His contributions to music include notable operas such as 'The Gipsy's Warning' and 'The Lily of Killarney'. Born on November 27, 1804, in Stuttgart, Germany, he studied with Hummel and Weber, and later moved to England where he became a prominent figure in the classical music scene.
