This is my own simple arrangement of Hunter's Chorus, originally composed by Carl Maria von Weber. I made this arrangement for a string orchestra.

"Hunter's Chorus" is from the German opera, "Der Freischütz" (J. 277, Op. 77 The Marksman/The Freeshooter), with spoken dialogue in three acts by Carl Maria von Weber and a libretto by Friedrich Kind, based on a story by Johann August Apel and Friedrich Laun, from their 1811 collection, "Gespensterbuch". It premiered on 18 June 1821 at the Schauspielhaus in Berlin. It is considered the first German Romantic opera.

When played, one must focus on the dynamics and decorations (such as the legato and staccato). These have an effect on the mood that the piece creates. When I listen to this score I am reminded of middle-aged, bearded men who just came to celebrate a successful hunting session inside a bar, ready to get drunk and have a good time.
