The final movement of the suite is an at times witty set of variations on a tune sometimes referred to as "Hiding Place." The theme presentation is set for solo flute vefore being handed over to cellos and then second violin. This essentially presents the theme in those sections of the ensemble to aid the listener for future appearances. Following is a list of the variations:

Variation 1: Major key March (a la Sousa) Variation 2: Canonical variation Variation 3: "Confused" variation (in which we hear hints at "Three Blind Mice" and a familiar Purcell tune before the theme can be rediscovered Variation 4: Collapsed Variation (the pitches of the theme stacked together creating a rather intense few measures) Variation 5: A slow variation that presents the theme inverted and rhythmically altered in an almost fugue-like presenation Variation 6: 5/4 Jazz variation featuring a solo clarinet line
