I composed this setting for a new community choir I helped to set up in Edinburgh. The Watsonian Community Choir consists of singers with many different levels of experience: some have sung in choirs all their lives; some sang in school but haven't since and have come back to it once their own children are a little older; others have never sung in a choir before and have come with a spouse. For their inaugural concert I decided to compose something which I thought would be challenging - 5 beats in a bar (mostly), key change to totally unrelated key in the middle etc - but hopefully enjoyable to sing. It was also designed to suit the make up of the choir which, as with most choral societies, had fewer tenors an basses than sopranos and altos, hence scoring for SABar. The recording is the first performance which they gave on 5th May 2018 in Colinton Parish Church, Edinburgh.
