Invocation to Unity is for 4-part male choir (TTBB), written in 2016. It is a setting of two texts from Bahá’í scriptures: the first by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, beseeching us all to join him in praying for love, friendship, peace and unity; and the second is an invocation by Bahá’u’lláh.

The setting is very simple, almost minimalistic in places, but also suggesting renaissance choral music and, perhaps, some of Avo Pärt’s choral output.

It was written for the commemoration of the 9/11/2001 attacks on the New York World Trade Centre, to be held in Sydney on 9 September 2016.
