The popular hymn tune "Neander" or "Unser Herrscher" is used with various hymn texts. An interesting, but straight-forward introduction and three varied harmonizations, two with descants, are given here. As an alternative the final verse harmonization and descant are also transposed up one step to follow on from an interlude/modulation. Scoring for brass ensemble is available upon request. The frequent fanfare motifs reflect the text "let us hear heaven’s trumpets ringing clear" in Bishop Gerald Kennedy’s hymn "God of love and God of power".
