This extended setting of "Be Thou my Vision" was first written for use at a wedding, and then expanded for choral use. The harmonization for each verse may be used independently. The canonical introduction uses a pedal point imitating pipes; the free choral canon in the third verse leads to an optional interlude, preceding the soaring descant of the final verse. It is featured on the recording "To Sing with Heart and Voice" from Holy Trinity Garrison Church, Windsor.
