Another composition exercise that I had to do as part of my theory course, this is supposed to emulate the style of a Romantic character-piece. Form is rounded-balanced binary, or mini-sonata form, and I realised too late the retransition smells of Beethoven Pathetique. More difficult than it seems, the piece has challenging cross-rhythms and multiple melodic lines. For the most part, the right hand phrases on the offbeats while the left hand phrases on the beat.
