Soprano Sax and synthesizer doubles the sixteenth note lead line with a clavinet playing the funky comping, bass and drums. The fills are written in for the drums parts only as a reference to the style of playing, which is like drummer Dave Weckel formerly of the Electric Band. "Indigo" is based on 12 bar blues form with some chord alterations and a B section with drum hits and breaks.
