This is the first version of the final section of Inanna's Descent for orchestra. (NB Sketches for the choral parts are shown as the intention is to add a separate Finale and slow movement; the former will use the passages for choir.) There are a few 'empty' bars: it has yet to be established whether a narrator should add the story of how Inanna descended into the underworld as told in the Sumerian myth.
The music is cast into eight or nine variations based on material presented in the introduction: each section is inspired by the garment or item of regalia Innanna is required to shed to pass through each gate.
