This song is from the one-act comic opera "The Inheritance" which was written for the older members of Derby Opera Workshop. A very strange mixed group of characters, including the clairvoyant Elvira, gather together to grab what they can of the late Uncle George's estate. He has sadly died intestate. The biggest problem for the DOW performers was to keep straight faces in performance. Their roles had them rollimg with laughter during rehearsals! "I'm Poorly" is Uncle Albert's sad account of his lot. Audiences usually join in the chorus!
