I WONDER is the perfect anthem for children. Based on a poem by Georgana Riddle, the song explores the wonder of God’s creation through the eyes of a child. The anthem can be sung in unison or two parts. An option flute part is included with the score.

TEXT I wonder will there be butterflies in heaven; Swallowtails and Monarchs, Skippers and Crescents, Tiny yellow Sulfurs and iridescent Blues; Rising, falling, drifting, gliding, Wings outstretched, a flutter I wonder.

I wonder will there be butterflies in heaven; Saffron and Silver, Ebony, Azure, Amethyst and Iv’ry; dancing in the air, Soaring in the wake of angel’s flight. I wonder.

Tiny jewels resting on alabaster clouds; Precious gems scattered on golden streets; Long and slender tongues to drink the sweetness of God’s love; Endless days, eternal summer; to bask in God’s glory.

I wonder will there be butterflies in heaven, Soaring up above on the wings of love. Dancing in the air on the wings of prayer Basking in the glory of God. I wonder.
