This a cappella piece for SATB is intended to raise the consciousness of Christians, especially during the Lenten season. The juxstaposition of my lyrics with "Were You There" portrays Christ's passion, even as we satisfy our hedonistic thirst. It is supposed to symbolize His agonizing death overcoming and transforming our sinful nature. Although it is hardly meant to offend, I must add that my Parish priest will not allow its performance in church.
