A few note on this piece of music… It begins with God be with you. Perhaps it represents the good byes we had to say to come here to this earth. Good-bye to perfection, good-bye, possibly, to friends, good-bye to the comforts of living with our Father in heaven. We had a hope to return, our one and only chance, our elder brother Jesus Christ. So rightly, the most of this musical story is in memory of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. “I Believe in Christ.” Most of the lyrics are based on our return. He can heal us and save us. Him and him alone. This segment of the song brings us through mortality. We do get comfortable with those we love here. With friends and family. How little we actually understand. Perhaps, for Christians, who have an understanding of that Atoning Sacrifice, can relate. This leads us into the next segment. This is the sad feeling part of the song. Perhaps, for us amongst the living, it is the feeling of loss. The void of that person we love. Perhaps the empty spot on the pew next to us, maybe that long lost hug or the comfort we feel from them. Yet again, perhaps it is for them that pass on. They too have to say good-bye to those they loved. However, here is the secret and the triumphant finish. WE WILL BE TOGETHER AGAIN. The sacrifice of Christ made that possible. Indeed, as it says, “till we meet at Jesus feet.” Nevertheless, it does not end there does it? We must continue. You bet that the faith of those who pass on has no need to diminish, so why should ours. They, too, along with us still believe in Christ or rather believe Christ when he says, “come unto me.” During this hard time in all of our lives, we need to believe Christ. It is his promise that binds us to those truths we hold dear. With out him we are lost. God be thanked for the gift of his Son that can penetrate even the darkest of times. He is there, as He always will be. God be with us all, till we meet again.
