Schubert’s Moments Musicaux No.4 just cried out for a gentle jazz treatment staying close to the original but with a mild syncopation and liberties taken with the piano accompaniment. Bach had much of his best instrumental work realised for jazz ensemble. Jacques Loussier comes to mind of course.Schubert would surely have enjoyed this (?). Add drums and bass etc ad Lib.I leave that to you! My first taste of jazz was as pianist with the great Tubby Hayes’ first combo at his home in Raynes Park, south London, when he and I were at Rutlish school together in Wimbledon. He got famous. I went the classical route and didn’t get famous!…yet.
