Highly Strung is a series of worksheets, designed to be used in the group teaching of beginner violinists, violists & cellists. Using only quarter notes, quarter note rests and the notes of the D string, the pieces allow young string players the opportunity to perform within weeks of commencing lessons. Each piece comes with an attractive downloadable MP3 backing track, which can be played on a computer, MP3 player, or burnt to CD. The worksheets are available separately for the violin (to enable the downloading of each MP3), or collectively for each individual instrument. A collection of rhythmic flashcards (Rhythm Raps) is also available, to introduce and reinforce the rhythmic elements covered in the series. Both worksheets and MP3s are freely available, so why not help develop pupils IT skills by encouraging them to download their own!
