The Australian Anzac Day anthem Hands Across the Sea was inspired by a World War II postcard sent to my great-aunt Anne Foulsum by her soldier husband Bill Foulsum. The postcard embroidered with two clasped hands, that symbolize the unbreakable human bond of love, that transcends distance and war. The lyrics of this anthem recognise today’s Australian soldiers as well as those of past generations, and the families who wait for them at home. The mp3 is a wind/brass/keyboard version.
