"Gottes Sohn ist kommen" appeared in Michael Weisse's "Ein New Gesengbuchlen", 1531. The first eight bars are well known as the hymn-tune "Ravenshaw", often sung to the words "Lord, thy word abideth". In this arrangement I have used William Henry Monk's harmonization of "Ravenshaw" for bars 1-7. Bars 8-14 are my own harmonization.
