I love Baroque music because I love good counterpoint and simple form. I'd write more of it, but I'd be "b'roke" if I needed to sell it. Here is a 4-part canon for middle - high school level. The continuous theme is in the single reed section, beginning with the Bass Clarinet/Baritone Saxophone, doubled and/or supported by the ensemble with other contrapuntal accompaniment. In Baroque tradition, balance and blend is essential; hence no dynamics or articulation marks. Your band will be challenged to listen! If you have a bassoonist, the Baritone (Bass Clef) Part may be used.
