This has to be the shortest fugato that I have written to date, but there is a reason. The piece was originally part of a setting of the "Gloria" which I wrote years ago. The fugato was for voices but I always liked it and thought that it would sound well on brass. Hence this version! It may be that the bass trombone part will benefit from being played an octave lower, particularly if it is played on tuba.
