You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices."Equali" are pieces written for an ensemble of identical instruments. For example, in 1812, Beethoven wrote three equali for four trombones. Since these pieces contain trombones plus a trumpet, they must therefore be "inequali."
The first of the set has been described to me as "Hindemith on dexedrine." It's called "3, 4, 5" because the bass trombone is playing a passacaglia; the two tenor trombones are playing the accompaniment to a melody in 4/4; and the trumpet is playing a melody in 5/4.
